Father's Day 2014 Special

Father's Day Gift Ideas
Fathers Day 2014

This is a guest post by Abhay Kanwar.

Ever since I was a little kid who had always snuggled up next to his dad when he read The Charlotte’s Web to me, the same kid who yelled, "Don't let go!" when he taught me to ride a bicycle. These are the moments I look back to and realize how very much my Daddy pampered me. As Father’s Day approaches, I miss my Dad but I am thankful that I have so many wonderful memories of him.

None of you can ever be gratified enough of being the offspring of such a Father who - so giving, so selfless, so faultless. I am sure there has been a moment in each of your lives when you have stopped to wonder the unparalleled importance of your dad in your lives. Their influence infinite, their presence supreme! They have been a pillar of strength for you and their wholehearted love has never demanded anything from you other than your love and respect. Celebrate the spirit of Father's Day with FlowerAura and cherish the presence of your father in your life.

Gifting Ideas for Father’s Day: Buying gifts can be incredibly hard, and while taking the easy road with a tie or coffee mug is tempting, why not do something really special for the Old Man this year? To help nudge you in the right direction, we’ve put together this DIY list of suggestions that we know can help turn his Father's Day into more than just another game night.

Father and child

1) Have each of the kids paint their names (in their own style and favorite colors) on a solid white tie. Children who cannot write could draw a small picture. Your father can proudly wear that tie on Father’s Day.

2) Frame a special handwritten note or tribute. Even little ones can give Dad a unique note with printed letters or crayon-colored pictures.

3) Recreate an experience with your father that brings back memories (going to a special sporting event, amusement park, camping trip, etc.).

4) Give your dad gifts to encourage him in his special hobby or talent. Kids could wrap individual presents that all relate to a central theme. E.g. giving him some canvas, oil paints, brushes, and such. To jump start your dad to get him to paint again.

5) If your father is nearby, take him to lunch (or breakfast).

6) A lovely bunch of flowers to make him feel special along-with a good quality bottle of champagne to make him feel proud. This is a perfect gift to thank your father for everything he has done for you.

7) Write about some specific memories in a letter. Let him read the letter and then talk together about those specific memories. If your father does not live nearby, send him the letter and follow it up with a phone call.

Happy Father's Day
